Basic Alarms Glossary

  • Reservation Reminder - An email notification is sent automatically at a specified time to alert the driver about an upcoming reservation. When this is sent, is customizable.

*The email is sent to the address associated with the driver’s account

Note: replies to this email address are not monitored.

  • Late Return - A notification is sent to both admin (email) and driver (SMS by default or email) once the scheduled time for a reservation has come to an end. Different versions of this email can be sent depending on the amount of time that’s passed since the vehicle was expected to be returned:
    • 0 minutes late
    • 0 minutes late + another reservation starts in less than 60 minutes
    • 15 minutes late
    • 1 hour late
    • >2 hours late

Example:

SMS DRIVER: Looks like you're running late and someone is waiting on your vehicle. Please return to the home lot immediately. If you're having issues, text 123-456-7890.

  • Geofence - An email notification is sent to the admin once a vehicle has traveled further than allowed from its location. The distance from the location is defined by the admin.

Example:

MS DRIVER You're outside the allowable area (XX Miles). If you are with a passenger, please reply to this message. Otherwise, return closer to the home lot.

  • Low Voltage / Fuel - An email notification is sent to the admin once the vehicle’s battery voltage/fuel level has dropped below a specified level as reported by the vehicle’s telematics hardware. The voltage is set to 12v by default but can be customized. Fuel level is defined by %, this is calculated using the fuel capacity listed in “vehicle type”.

Example:

SMS DRIVER Your fuel level is getting low. Please fuel up to a full before returning the vehicle. Returning the car with less than full will add fees to your invoice.

  • Vehicle Offline, Upcoming Reservation - An email notification is sent to an admin if a vehicle’s status isn’t “Active” in Mission Control and there’s an upcoming reservation within the next 24 hours.

Example:

Subject: Upcoming reservation on offline vehicle

Body: A vehicle that is currently listed as out of service has a reservation starting in less than 30 hours. Please make sure that the vehicle will be back in service within those 30 hours, or move the existing reservation to a new vehicle. Resolve this issue 24 hours before the start-time of this reservation to avoid multiple vehicle confirmations to the next driver.

  • Reservation Created (org email, driver email) - An email notification is sent to an admin (optional) and the driver once a reservation has been created. This email can contain general information regarding the reservation (location, start time/date). Depending on reservation rulesets, a specific vehicle may not be assigned to a reservation upon creation.

  • Reservation Updated (org email, driver email) - An email notification is sent to an admin (optional) and the driver once an existing reservation’s information has been updated.

  • Reservation Canceled (org email, driver email) - An email notification is sent to an admin (optional) and the driver once an existing reservation has been canceled.

  • Reservation Ended Away From Lot - An email notification is sent to an admin when a reservation has ended but the vehicle is outside of the allowable distance away from the location. The distance is defined by the admin.

  • Stale Telemetry - An email notification is sent to an admin if Mission Control has stopped receiving telemetry information from a vehicle’s hardware.

  • Unbooked, Away from Lot - An email notification is sent to an admin if a vehicle that is not in an active reservation is away from its location. The allowable distance is defined by the admin. This is to help with theft prevention.

Subject: Unbooked Vehicle Away from Lot

Body: A vehicle that is not currently on a reservation may be away from the home location. Please review the GPS data from the vehicle to determine if the vehicle might be stolen or being used without authorization. You may need to manually update the GPS on the vehicle to get the latest coordinates.

  • Vehicle Damage Reported - An email listing information regarding a damage report submitted by a driver is emailed to an admin. This will include a URL to the reservation’s profile page where the information can be easily located.
