GLOSSARY
PLATFORM CONCEPTS
Organization
- Each organization has its own data, including customers, vehicles and client configurations. Also called a Service or Service Org.
- Multi Service - In this setup, the organization is a parent of multiple children services. Client apps have the ability to select and switch services after login.
- Flat Organization - In this simple setup, the organization is the parent of a single service.
Customer
End-user (usually drivers, techs or employees) that access the organization through the app.
2. TECH TERMS
- Brokers - A third party integration that allows LM to obtain additional information. This can be telemetry/GPS information or allowing payments to be processed. Example companies are Invers, Geotab, Uber and Stripe.
- F4B/Fleet 4 Business - Allows Service Owners (SO's) to grow their fleet by adding Fleet Owners (FOs) as partners. The FO's own the fleet and the Service Owners handle the reservations and end users experience.
- NGA/Next Generation App - LM’s Next-Generation App project set to be released in January '24. This new version of the app is an enhanced version of the classic app which includes a better homepage and search options.
- RRS/Reservation Rulesets - Rules related to setting up reservations in Mission Control. This includes booking details, booking times (max/min duration, time and cancellation rules etc.), also app booking settings (start/end time, duration etc.), payment framework and payment details.
- TRS/Tax Rulesets - Rules related to tax settings in Mission Control. In this section, configure the percentage that will be charged in each of the locations. These are the taxes you charge based on location.
- BHR/Business Hour Rulesets - Allows you to set hours of operation during which your vehicles will be available.
3. TESTING & DEVELOPMENT CONCEPTS

Cycle - A cycle has a fixed duration, which is typically two to four weeks in Scrum but can vary depending on the specific Agile framework or project requirements. This fixed time frame ensures that work is planned, executed, and reviewed within a predictable timeframe. For Launch a cycle is two weeks of work, so 1 month = 2 cycles.
- First week, Code changes and fixes developed
- Second Week, Internal testing and Quality Assurance (QA)

Feature - A change to a software product. The term sometimes specifically means user-facing visual and behavior changes, as opposed to bug fixes or internal-facing technical changes.
- Quality Assurance (QA) - Responsible for creating and performing tests, identifying errors, and providing feedback to verify that a final product meets a company's quality requirements
- Production - A live environment where all LM services are available, accessible and operational for its intended users or customers.
- Release - The delivery of a software product to the public.
- UAT (User Acceptance Testing) - A backend environment used for client approval testing of a feature before releasing it publicly. For example: If the organization has requested a new feature development and it has been approved by LM, we will release the new development in a UAT environment to test prior to adding it to your live organization/production account.
4. WORK SERVICES
- White-label Applications - A customized app based on a specific client’s needs such as custom service flows & integrations.
5. TECH PRODUCT AREAS
- Mission Control - The administrative portal for admins to control their organization.
6. TECH COMPONENTS
- Tech app - Interface for service technicians/admins. Currently implemented as a feature within the end-user mobile apps, shown when using an "employee" login.
7. MISCELLANEOUS
- Bluetooth/BLE - A wireless device-to-device connectivity standard. Commonly used for keyless vehicle unlock with the apps.
- Broker - A third party integration partner LM uses for payments (STRIPE), Telematics (INVERS / GEOTAB), Drivers License or Passport scanning (Microblink).
- Keyfob - An object attached to a key chain or key ring. A small electronic device used typically in place of a key (as to unlock a door or start a vehicle) or to remotely initiate the action of another device (such as a garage door).
- MFA/Multi-Factor Authentication - A security process that requires multiple methods of verifying a user's identity before granting access to an account or system..
- MVP/Minimum Viable Product - A basic version of a product or software that includes essential features to meet the initial needs of users. It focuses on delivering core functionalities while omitting non-essential elements..
- NFC - Near Field Communication, a card or badge given to technician by a telematics provider that allows them to create offline reservations to test and perform maintenance on vehicles.
- ODB-II - on-board diagnostics port, a physical port tapping into a vehicle's CAN bus. This is the interface the telematic units often use.
- SLA - Service Level Agreement (it's a agreed timeframe to respond to tickets/customers).
- Telematics unit - Installable vehicle devices that allow telematics and keyless app operation.
- UX/UI - User Experience/User Interface.
- Virtual Key - A virtual key gives drivers the ability to lock and unlock their cars from their smartphones.
