How to Schedule Future Pricing Changes for a Service Group

Introduction

Mission Control allows you to schedule a new Pricing Ruleset (PRS) to take effect for a specific Service Group on a future date. This is ideal for managing planned rate adjustments, such as updating your internal billing rates for a new fiscal year or introducing seasonal pricing for your rental fleet.

By scheduling a change, the system will automatically switch from the current PRS to the new one on the date you specify, ensuring a seamless transition without any manual intervention required at the time of the changeover.

Before You Begin

To ensure a smooth process, please complete the following steps before proceeding:

  1. Create Your New SKUs: In Mission Control, create and configure the new automated SKUs that reflect your updated pricing structure (e.g., a new hourly rate SKU).
  2. Create the New Pricing Ruleset (PRS): Create a new PRS and add your new SKUs to it.
    • Pro-Tip: Use a clear and descriptive name for your new PRS to make it easy to identify, such as FY2026 Vehicle Rates or Summer Weekend Pricing 2027.

Scheduling the New Pricing Ruleset

Follow these steps to apply your new pricing to a Service Group for a specific date range.

  1. From the navigation menu in Mission Control, navigate to Service View and select the Service Groups tab.

  2. From the list, click on the name of the Service Group you wish to modify.

  3. Scroll down to the Pricing Rules section. Here, you will see the PRS currently active for this Service Group.

  4. Click the three-dot menu (More Options) on the right side of the Pricing Rules card and select Edit Pricing Rules.

  5. The current PRS will be displayed at the top. In the Scheduled Changes section at the bottom, click the Add New Rule button.

  6. From the Pricing Ruleset dropdown menu, select the new PRS you created earlier.

  7. Start Date: Select the date when you want the new pricing to become effective. The new PRS will automatically apply to all new reservations starting on this date. This will simultaneously set an end date for the previous pricing rule.
  8. End Date (Optional): You can also set an end date. This is useful for temporary or seasonal pricing. Leave the field empty will leave the PRS in place until another one is applied.
