Troubleshooting Mobile App Login Issues

Experiencing trouble logging into mobile app? Don't worry, many common login issues can be resolved with a few simple steps. This guide covers frequent problems like blank screens, app crashes, "Email not found" errors, and more.

General Troubleshooting Steps (Always Start Here!)

Before diving into specific issues, try these universal solutions:

  1. Check Internet Connection: Ensure a strong and stable Wi-Fi or cellular data connection. A weak connection can prevent the app from loading or communicating with our servers.

  2. Force Close and Restart the App:

    • iOS: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen (or double-tap the Home button on older iPhones) to see open apps. Swipe the Mobile app up and off the screen to close it. Then, reopen the app.

    • Android: Go to your phone's Settings > Apps (or Apps & Notifications) > (mobile app name). Tap "Force Stop" and then reopen the app.

  3. Restart Your Device: Sometimes, a simple device restart can clear temporary glitches affecting app performance.

  4. Update the Mobile App: Ensure that the latest version of the Mobile app is installed. Outdated versions can have bugs that cause login problems. Check your device's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) for updates.

  5. Clear App Cache (Android Only):

    • Go to phone's Settings > Apps (or Apps & Notifications) > Mobile App Name > Storage & Cache.

    • Tap "Clear Cache." (Do NOT tap "Clear Data" unless instructed, as this will reset the app and may require re-downloading content).

  6. Reinstall the App: If all else fails, try uninstalling the Mobile app and then re-downloading it from your device's app store. This can resolve corrupted files or installation issues.

Specific Login Issues and Solutions

1. Blank Screen / App Freezing or Crashing / App Not Loading

  • Cause: These issues often stem from corrupted app data, insufficient device memory, or an outdated app/operating system.

  • Solution: Follow the General Troubleshooting Steps above, especially "Force Close and Restart," "Restart Your Device," "Update the App," and "Reinstall the App." Ensure your phone has enough free storage space.

2. Login Button Not Working / Unresponsive

  • Cause: This can be due to a temporary app glitch, an unstable internet connection, or incomplete entry of credentials.

  • Solution:

    • Make sure both your email and password are fully entered in the respective fields. The login button may remain inactive until all required fields are populated.

    • Verify internet connection (see General Troubleshooting Steps).

    • Perform a "Force Close and Restart" of the app.

    • Try "Reinstalling the App" if the issue persists.

3. "Email Not Found" Error

  • Cause: This error indicates that the email address you're trying to use is not registered with the account.

  • Solution:

    • Double-check for typos: Carefully review the email address you've entered for any spelling mistakes.

    • Verify your registration email: Verify email address (the exact) that was used when you originally signed up.

    • Multiple email addresses: If you have multiple email accounts, try logging in with each one to see which is associated with your account.

    • Account not created: If you're new with the mobile app, you might not have completed the full registration process yet. Return to the sign-up flow to create your account.

    • Contact Customer Support: If you're certain the email is correct and you've registered, but still receive this error, contact customer support.

4. Locked Account

  • Cause: For security reasons, your account may be temporarily locked after several consecutive incorrect login attempts.

  • Solution:

    • "Forgot Password" Feature: On the login screen, look for a "Forgot Password" or "Reset Password" link. Follow the instructions to reset your password. This usually unlocks your account automatically.

    • Wait and Try Again: Sometimes, account locks are temporary and automatically clear after a set period (e.g., 30 minutes to an hour). Wait for a while and try logging in again with the correct password.

    • Contact Customer Support: If the "Forgot Password" option doesn't work, or your account remains locked, contact customer support for assistance.

5. General Connection Issues (even with good Wi-Fi/Data)

  • Cause: While your device may show a good signal, there might be specific network restrictions or temporary server issues.

  • Solution:

    • Toggle Wi-Fi/Mobile Data: Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data to see if one connection works better than the other.

    • VPN Usage: If you are using a VPN, try disabling it temporarily and then attempt to log in. VPNs can sometimes interfere with app connections.

    • Server Status: Occasionally, servers might be experiencing temporary issues. While less common, checking social media or website for service announcements might provide an answer.

6. Browser/Redirect Issues during SSO:

  • Cause: The SSO process often involves redirecting you to your company's login page in your device's web browser. Issues can arise if the browser isn't configured correctly or has cached data.

  • Solution:

    • Clear your device's default browser cache and cookies: This can resolve conflicts with old login sessions.

    • Ensure your default browser is updated: An outdated browser can sometimes cause compatibility problems.
